Having a Laugh
As an actor and voice actor, I've spent countless hours talking and jabbering away. So why not put my talking to good use and start a podcast? Get ready, babes, and join me for some spicy hot tea, generational TRAU-MA (Jamie Lee Curtis voice), and some hilarity. My therapist always told me I should do stand-up, and this is the closest I’ll ever get. I've also roped in some guests to join me in discussing acting, mental health, and behind-the-scenes magic. Welcome to the wild world of my podcast, where sarcasm reigns supreme and laughter is the best therapy.

Shay (00:01)
Hey everyone, this is Shayla Tharp and you're listening to having a laugh today we have Sarah Coffey
Sarah Coffey (00:00)
Hi Hi
Shay (00:07)
an engineer, an account executive, and collegiate swimmer, but most importantly, my best friend of 12 years. Eee! Thank you for coming to chat with me. How are you? What are you doing? I, this is, you're my first, um, I would say normal, I can't say normal person, but.
Sarah Coffey (00:16)
EEEE
No, you can sing. No, definitely not. Well, not normal, but.
Shay (00:31)
normal job person, normal job person, you know, because I just, it's usually all about actors and I'm very selfish. So it's lovely to have you have the normal side of the world come to
Sarah Coffey (00:47)
well, thank you so, so much. I so appreciate you having me. I'm so excited to on your podcast. This is my first one ever and who better way than my bestie.
Shay (00:58)
We have been friends since 20... Oh God, I don't know, 2009? Yeah, that is such... It is cool, yeah. It's just such a... I mean, we're in it for the long haul now. yeah, we're tenured. Like, there's no getting out of it. Like, we're in it. Like, it's just, you kill somebody and I'm gonna have to go with you.
Sarah Coffey (01:06)
Yeah, something like that. It's awesome when you can lose track.
you're tenured. Like you're...
I'm showing up.
Shay (01:28)
I'll show it up. How have you been? How's life? What are you up to right now? You just got a new job, newish job, right?
Sarah Coffey (01:39)
Yeah. Well, thank you so much. Yeah, things are things are going good, especially in terms of my new job. I just started working for this company two months ago, and it is just such a world change or culture change from my previous company, which they just didn't really know what was going on. They were a startup. So going from a startup to a company that's been around for 100 years.
is so nice to have those standardized processes in place of how we run, how we work things, the company way of doing things as a standard I'm really enjoying. Yeah.
Shay (02:19)
And tell people like, so I would need like a PowerPoint on what you do. I couldn't even tell people what you do. My dad came to visit once with you and you and him had more in common than I do. You were like, yeah, and this and this HVAC. And so tell people like in child terms what you do.
Sarah Coffey (02:36)
Mm -hmm.
Yeah, so I was in the HVAC world for quite a while to start my career. Now I'm actually in the bearing world, like ball bearings, cylindrical bearings of that nature. But pretty much all in all, it is a technical sales role and account management role. So when you say account executive, really that title is...
me being responsible for top accounts for my company and giving them all the support that they need to run their business the best they can while using our products. So basically you could kind of think of me as like some of our top customers like campaign managers. So I'm the go -to girl for them if they have an issue with an order.
if they need help placing a new order. I'm not doing customer relations, but in terms of like, there's a new job, it's a hundreds of thousand dollar job, maybe even millions of dollars. And I would be the one to help secure that deal and help land that deal, help make sure that we get that business.
Shay (03:47)
that's too stressful. I'm too stressed. I'm too stressed. I don't know how you do that. That was all too crazy.
Sarah Coffey (03:56)
It's pros and cons for sure. mean, there's days, you know, you're working all day long, in a sense, depending on if you're with the customer. But you know, it's sales. So there is that flexibility. Where, you know, I, I work from home, I can, you know, if I have an appointment or something, I can go do that and still come back to work, no problem.
Shay (04:04)
Mm.
Now that's nice.
Sarah Coffey (04:20)
So there is that flexibility. There's the travel aspect, which is a lot, but on the flip side, you do get some of that work -life balance when you are home.
Shay (04:30)
That's so nice. I don't think, well, obviously I'm not sure if anyone knows, but you're very funny and very sociable and like super outgoing. You're a Leo. So you're like a classic Leo, like very passionate and will kill people at board games. like you are a sociable. So you're that good go -to person probably to, you know, handle everybody.
Sarah Coffey (04:48)
Hahaha!
Thank you. I appreciate that someone at my new company recently said high energy and I kind of, know at first I was like, is that a compliment? You know, are they saying I'm annoying? then I was like, no, I think it is a compliment and you know, to have that pull and that engagement to get people excited about something that, know, fairings are not exciting on their own, you know, just to have that kind of camaraderie or be able to kind of pull that.
Shay (05:07)
No, I don't even think you're high energy.
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (05:27)
positive energy or into a room. Thank you.
Shay (05:29)
Mm -hmm. Yeah, have you ever, since most of my listeners are actors and entertainers, have you ever thought about joining that world or becoming anything like that? Really?
Sarah Coffey (05:40)
absolutely. absolutely. When I was a kid, I really, really wanted to be an actress. I just, yeah, I was super, I did a few school things here and there. I never followed it. Unfortunately, think, yeah, part of it was how I grew up and kind of going into that, but.
Shay (05:50)
Aww.
I didn't know
Sarah Coffey (06:08)
I did actually, I really wanted to and like, I can't wait for you to write me into something Kayla.
Shay (06:16)
that's so crazy but you are you're a Leo and I know tons of actors that are Leo's like that is their personality to be the one to yeah the spotlight the you know you're just passionate and you're gonna work hard so that's so I didn't know that that's so interesting what kind of
Sarah Coffey (06:33)
I definitely did. Anytime you're like, hey, let's do this little project or something, like, I don't know if you noticed, but I'm like, yeah, let's do it. I'm like, we're going to learn this dance and then we're going to go do this video.
Shay (06:41)
No, you always are. You're like, I'll...
huh. Yeah, you're always like, can I help you with that self tape? I'm like, yeah, sure. So, I didn't know that. What did you do in school? Like, did you do like little plays or?
Sarah Coffey (06:59)
Only a couple, honestly, once I got, I think my last one was middle school. And it was very much a, I remember even in high school, know, coming to my parents and being like, hey, I want to try out for the school play, you know, you know, that's a huge spring. think spring and they do want in the fall too. can't, wow, we went to the same high school, I can't even remember. But I really wanted to do it. And maybe if they did in the fall, I knew I couldn't because I did swim.
Shay (07:21)
I don't know. I don't know.
Sarah Coffey (07:29)
and swimming was, was a really important part of my life, to always go to practice, to train all year long. and I do remember coming to my parents and very, my dad just, you know, right, right away. No, you have to, even other things like I wanted to try tennis. Nope. You, you could break your ankle and then you can't swim. And, and that was just like the theme for anything kind of growing up. It was like, mom and dad, can I go to snow star with so -and -so and go tubing in the snow
No, you could, you know, fall and twist your, break your ankle. Like it was always like break your ankle, I swear. And I like manifested that for me because obviously like last year I did break my ankle. But yeah, so like growing up, they really kind of just, my mom, not so much my dad was just like, Kabash, like, nope, you have to do this. This is what you've chosen, I guess. And I've kind of just accepted that as a whole.
Shay (08:04)
You did.
You finally did it!
Mm -hmm.
I wonder if that's also, cause we grew up in the same town, so, well, mostly. And I wonder if that might be just our town's vibe or a Midwestern vibe, because I was also the same. They were like, no theater, only softball. That's it. That's all you're doing for your whole life. Nothing.
Sarah Coffey (08:42)
Yeah, and maybe our high school even too. Our high school really pushed sports and we were known as the sports high school in our area as well as like the the pre -college sports like area high school.
Shay (08:47)
Mm -hmm.
Yeah, and I will say, like, people here are talented at sports. We are built different. Like, we're built Ford tough. It really, like, when I went to London, you visited me there. Everyone seems so much smaller and statue in like height and width and thickness and just Midwesterners. We're just huge.
Sarah Coffey (09:04)
We got that corn in us.
I mean, it's not even like, obviously people are bigger in a sense of like, you know, weight and stuff here, but like even in a sense of just like muscular being, European sizes do not fit me. Like, and I'm not like, you know, like I am, I am normal size people. Like, oh, well, I get normal size. Okay. Yeah. I am 5 '11". I guess that is.
Shay (09:32)
That's what I mean, just
Uh huh. Yeah, you're 5 '11"?
You are tall as hell.
Sarah Coffey (09:50)
Everybody's out too though, I love that, I love
Shay (09:53)
I know. We are very tall, which I always enjoy a tall bestie. Me too.
Sarah Coffey (09:58)
I used to hate it. used to think no one, you know, can't, all the things, and now I'm like, my gosh, I'm so over that.
Shay (10:05)
Yeah. Yeah, no, I, I used to hate being tall for a - There are days when I still am like, man, I wish I was just a little baby. Just a little baby. But I
Sarah Coffey (10:17)
Yeah. Yeah. I used to what though, my mom told me this a really long time ago and it stuck with me because I used to, you know, even as a kid, I was just a bigger girl. And I would say things, you know, happy, can wear a size extra small or something like that. And this is elementary school. saying this stuff. And I remember my mom very specifically saying, well,
Shay (10:39)
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (10:42)
when you and Abby are playing on the playground and she falls, she's way more likely to break her arm and you're not. that was all I needed to hear to get me through. I was like, you know what? Yeah, I won't break my arm at least. Because I got the pressure cut.
Shay (10:59)
Your mom's so concerned. Your mom is so concerned about, like, you falling and hurting yourself.
Sarah Coffey (11:06)
I don't know, but that's what she, that's what the takeaway was just like, well, you know, like, you can like, persevere more through things. And just because you have more of you and you know, more to enjoy.
Shay (11:15)
-huh.
Yeah, when I was in softball, like, one of the things we used to do, like, you just plow through the people that were trying to tag you out or whatever, just run to your base, just freaking go. And they were like, Shayla, just use your weight and just boom. And you just knock them out. So, you know, sometimes it comes.
Sarah Coffey (11:42)
They pushed us. mean, remember going into college and some of my teammates being like, my gosh, can you believe the coach said this or did this? And I'm like, yeah, my coach would go dodgeball if I came up for air.
Shay (11:51)
Yeah.
my God. my God. I feel like we went through, see, and I wonder if that's normal elsewhere. where we, because I have similar things with softball. Like I remember playing third base and like the coach was like, I missed a grounder. And she was like, you're gonna sit there and come closer to me every single time until, you know, I'm done with you. And so I was
Sarah Coffey (11:57)
Coach Ahrens what is he doing right now?
Yeah.
Shay (12:25)
two feet from her face and she just smacks the ball and it finally hits me and she's like, all right, we're done. And I was like, she was like, I don't think you're gonna miss any anymore, are you? And I was like, my God.
Everyone just chill. That is one thing I could tell everybody in this town. Take a chill pill. Let's all just dial it
Sarah Coffey (12:44)
Yeah, yeah. You know where they will take a chill pill when they're driving. Because they will just go so slow. I'm like, what are you doing? Like, not even just like, you know, speed limits slow. It's just it's like below speed limit really like, like looking around like what's going on. if ambulance or a police car that's like pull or like something pulled over something like a like something on the side.
Shay (12:49)
That's fact.
huh.
Yup.
Sarah Coffey (13:10)
Everyone's slowing way down. got to check it out. They got to their phones out.
Shay (13:13)
They gotta check it out. That's the whole thing is they have to observe and be like what's going on? I need to know my mom's already googling listening to the My mom was one of those people but they they apparently stopped doing that because people Yeah, because people were just I mean, I don't even get why you had it in the first place That should be private stuff. Anyway
Sarah Coffey (13:22)
Some people got the radar in their car, so they're listening to it already.
well, I can't imagine why.
Yeah, I feel like Batman.
Shay (13:41)
The other thing I love about us is we binge the same shows and I love talking about TV shows and our favorite is Jersey Shore. Mm. Shout out Mike.
Sarah Coffey (13:45)
Yes!
Mm -hmm. Shout out, Zucki. happy belated birthday, Mike and Polly D. Our cancers. Mm, we love them. They are. They are cancers. Mm -hmm.
Shay (13:58)
and Polly D.
I don't know why I love it so much. There's that nostalgic part of it where like the, you know, the early seasons, it feels like I'm there and like I used to be in high school with them and you know, it's very nostalgic.
Sarah Coffey (14:14)
Mm -hmm.
No, was a base for us to, this came out when we were in high school. And it was a base for us to know, oh, this is what life looks like when you're 21. We're like noted, noted, noted. This is how I will spend my college years.
Shay (14:27)
Mm.
I was like, so that's what I'm supposed to be doing.
Literally, I was like, okay, I got it. That's what I'm supposed to do. I'm on it. Yeah, there's the nostalgia and then now to watch them grow up. It's so much more boring, but
Sarah Coffey (14:45)
You
It's amazing.
It's like chicken noodle soup for the soul, almost. So because you saw how ratchet they were and how they are now. And it's just like, I can grow up too.
Shay (15:06)
Yeah, yeah. I'm like, okay. You know, it's just been so interesting, almost as like a social experiment to watch their trajectory in life. And yeah, and I really, I mean, obviously Mike's for me is the biggest change and difference. And I'm really like inspired by Mike, the situation. Inspired? Snaps for Mike. He just.
Sarah Coffey (15:14)
Yeah, that's a good way to put it.
I know! Snaps are mine!
Shay (15:35)
He's doing it all and I couldn't be more proud.
Sarah Coffey (15:38)
I know and just to see like he stepped up you know he just he decided it was time he stepped up and made that change and he you know he really did go through it and I'm just like yeah as a fan I'm like so proud to watch him and see him now with his beautiful family my gosh his kids are so cute they look just like and Lauren it's the eyes for me those big big eyes
Shay (15:55)
Mm -hmm.
I know. I know.
It's so cute. character do you think you... character? Which person do you think you are most like?
Sarah Coffey (16:11)
you
Shay (16:12)
I don't know, but I kind of feel you give snooki vibes.
Sarah Coffey (16:16)
I feel the Snooki vibes, especially like when I want to party and be really silly and weird. That is, that's me.
Shay (16:21)
Yeah.
Like you go balls to the wall, you're snookified, you are... Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Sarah Coffey (16:27)
Yeah, Snooki -Dina combo, something like that. I don't see myself as JWoww or Sammy. But for you, maybe a little mix. I think JWoww for you. But you still, but like, like a little mix of Snooki's too. Like it's like, that's how I think that's how we really work together. And like, makes sense. She's a Pisces, you're Scorpius. So both those water signs.
Shay (16:35)
No.
thank you.
I love that you know all their signs.
Sarah Coffey (16:57)
You're cute, Sagittarius, and I'm a Leo, so fire.
Shay (17:01)
my god, you are so good at like, tarot and zodiacs and all those things and I wish I were better at it. I really only know Leo and Scorpio because that's what we are and so I'm always looking at what our things are but I don't know how you memorize.
Sarah Coffey (17:20)
I don't have them like very, very specific, like down to the, like some dates I do know, but I do have a good grasp of like, you were born in October, this, you're Libra or maybe Scorpio, know, leading into Scorpio at end of the month, something like that. But I will say what helps me is at first is I literally would look up and like, what is Taurus again, you know? And then what I would do is I would remember a friend's birthday in that
Shay (17:41)
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (17:48)
So I'm like, that's Jess. I'm like, what is Jess like? And that actually helps me. Like if someone comes up to me and is like, I'm Taurus. I'm like, I know that you are a very hard worker. You can be stubborn. You can be like a party, you know, like, so you kind of like, he's a queer, is. Yes. So that totally fits him. He is, you know, wants to be different. Like it looks at everything like, this is, you know,
Shay (18:01)
Isn't your husband a Taurus? Aquarius.
Sarah Coffey (18:16)
I saw actually something a really good way to describe it. Aquarius is pink Himalayan salt. They are kind of, you know, want to be above regular like table salt, but they need to be different and unique. And that's why they are the pink Himalayan.
Shay (18:31)
That's so funny. The Aquarius's I know are also very sweet and kind of secretive a bit. Little mysterious.
Sarah Coffey (18:38)
They're a little mysterious. like to have, they like to hold that card close to their chest. Like as soon as you figure that out, then you're Uninteresting to them. And then Tyler and I, are actually, we're sister signs. So we're actually complete opposites, which you, yeah, you know, you know us and, but it really, pulls us together and.
Shay (18:43)
Yeah.
Interesting.
Mm -hmm.
Mm
Sarah Coffey (19:02)
actually what's really important is my rising is Aquarius. So I'm actually trying to be more Aquarius as I, you know, go into and grow as a person.
Shay (19:12)
See, I know the rising and, what's the other one, rising and the moon and I'm aware of what mine are, but I don't understand what those things mean quite yet.
Sarah Coffey (19:16)
in your moon.
The moon, what I know is the moon is for emotions. And that's kind of, I don't know those, I know the sun signs more so than like getting into that. And then you're rising is who I heard it as who you want to be when you grow
Shay (19:42)
Okay Hmm see I'm just like I feel like I'm a Scorpio through and through every which way you put it so I find
Sarah Coffey (19:43)
Mm -hmm.
Well, I know you have it in multiple signs of your chart from Snapchat. So Snapchat is awesome. If you put in your birth date and you put in the time, you have to put in the time you're born so you can get your rising and moon. But it actually, especially like if you do it and I do it, we can go and see how we connect like through astrology on Snapchat if we're friends. Like it's really kind of cool.
Shay (19:53)
I didn't even they did
It's neat, I like that.
Sarah Coffey (20:15)
You can literally like creep on your friends' charts and stuff. Yeah, but you are magical. You have magic in your sign and you are magical. You are amazing and so talented, so smart, like 1000%. You are my little stinger.
Shay (20:19)
I love that actually. I love that. Do you do,
Well, thank you. Another thing we like is doing tarot readings. I think that's become a big part. Well, it comes in waves for me, obviously, with doing it, with not doing it, but it has become such an important aspect in my life. like, still, I don't know, you know, if it's true, if it's not, I just, I love doing it.
Sarah Coffey (20:47)
Yeah. Me too.
Yeah, no, I totally take it with a grain of salt every time I do it. You know, and I kind of just...
looking for guidance, you know, and if, and as maybe, I don't know the right word to say it is, but sometimes you just need to hear from someone else. You can do it. This is the path. This is that. This is why this happened. And, and, and it just kind of really gives you that push you need to move forward. another aspect is you might see a card where it's like, it totally is like, well, you know, it just hits the nail on the head. So then it's
Shay (21:10)
Mm -hmm.
Mm -hmm.
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (21:39)
Obviously I shuffled these and this one just popped out. Like how did that happen? You know? So there's, I totally feel you. It kind of like blows my mind a little bit. It freaks me out almost. But the other side of it is I really liked that guidance and just that little like, hey, it's all going to be okay kind of, you know, message it usually gives.
Shay (21:43)
Mm -hmm.
Mm -hmm. Yeah, I mean I did it two days ago or you know and I do it really when I'm in the midst of like I don't freaking know what to do some somebody helped me and it was so interesting it gave me an exact answer that was so tied with the question I was like I have to do it I have to do this The tarot cards don't know that I'm poor though, apparently so
Sarah Coffey (22:09)
a good time to do it. Yeah. Yeah.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Right? They're like, money's coming in. I'm like, I'm like, this dollars I got back on this grocery order? Like, what is this?
Shay (22:32)
Win! Win, girl! Win! Bet! I
Yeah, I was learning like, do I move to California? And they were like, yes. And I was like, great with what?
Sarah Coffey (22:49)
You're like, how? Yeah, they'll never, they can't, yeah, spirit guides won't give you that, but they'll, they'll push you. If you're like, do I do it by this? You know, if you came up with it, you know, but yeah, sometimes it's like, just tell me, you know, but that's part of life. We got to figure it out on our own, I guess.
Shay (22:51)
Help me!
Mm -hmm. I'm gonna blow my nose really rudely right now. I don't know if everyone can hear, but I have a cold.
Sarah Coffey (23:12)
you
Shay (23:14)
so cute. Good.
Sarah Coffey (23:15)
you froze a little
Shay (23:17)
No one needs to see me blow in my nose.
So I want to ask you, what are some of like the biggest hurdles you've had to overcome kind of in your life? What's something that you've just kind of had to laugh your way through or just do you bring humor or happiness into the things that are bad
Give me some good examples.
Sarah Coffey (23:43)
Sure, think, yeah, no. Definitely some challenges and to try to, I guess, steer it towards the career part, I guess I kind of will go back a little bit with childhood. So I kind of allude to the fact I kind of don't fall out of line. I wouldn't say my parents were super strict, but I was terrified to find out if I got in trouble, what would happen.
Shay (23:45)
It's an interview.
Mm -hmm.
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (24:12)
They very much kind of like installed this fear of failure in me. And that was through, gotta get good grades, you gotta be the best in swimming, you have to do XYZ to be this perfect candidate for college and a scholarship. And but when you get to college, you better make sure that you study something that's going to be one of the top or one of
one of the hardest majors he possibly can in my opinion. I freaking, it was so hard. Sorry, I'm kind of losing track. Try to pull this together, sorry. Okay, yeah, not only, okay, maybe we can like edit that a little bit, but he pretty much installed this fear of failure and not only that, it was like this fear of, you know, not being successful. And in my parents' eyes, you know, more so my dad,
Shay (24:43)
I don't know how to do
Sarah Coffey (25:03)
you need to have XYZ to be successful in life, meaning you need to have this type of degree, you need to have a house by then, you need to be married, need to, all these kind of social norms he really pushed on me. And for a long time, I I believe that I had to follow these really strict rules and couldn't do certain things
It used to be, I'll get in trouble with my parents. But then it kind of formed into this anxiety of you're not going to make it. Like you're a failure. You're not succeeding anymore. And things as you get older get a lot harder, right? So high school, yeah, it was hard. you got there and you still kind of, I wouldn't say I had a great time, but now I'm going
Shay (25:47)
Yeah.
Sarah Coffey (25:50)
super stressful and then you get to college, you know, and you have those really intense, super stressful times because you're on your own, you're figuring it out on your own, you're, you know, you're, you're lost. I mean, you're 18, 19, 20, 21, like, and even still on into my later twenties, I felt this, you know, oh, wow. I didn't know last year, but, but this year I know, and that would happen for like every single year until like 28, it finally started like leveling out.
Shay (26:12)
-huh.
Sarah Coffey (26:18)
And that's kind of when I figured out that like, hey, there aren't any rules I have to follow. I can essentially do whatever I want. And I still have to remind myself of that when I am, you know, in a stressful situation or I have to do this because of this, because of that, or I have to be this. Another part of like my growing up was being a yes person, you know, always say yes to these opportunities or whatever it is.
Shay (26:25)
Mmm.
Sarah Coffey (26:48)
Even little things like saying yes to a dinner invite on Saturday and then another dinner invite but like I can't upset those friends so I'll just go to dinner early with this one and then try to make it to that one but then you're leaving early for that one and you're late to the next one and then both friends aren't happy like I it took me a long time to learn that it's better to you know say yes for yourself or just to You know, it's okay to slow down. It was always kind of this
Shay (27:13)
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (27:16)
gotta go, gotta go, gotta keep moving, gotta keep moving. Otherwise you're not gonna keep up, you're not gonna succeed, you're not gonna, you know, you're gonna fail. And that I think was probably my biggest challenge kind of growing up and going through the motions of getting my degree and going into my career is kind of figuring out that like, hey, it's gonna be okay and you did it and you're doing it and
It doesn't matter what your parents or your brothers or anyone else is saying about how you're living your life because You're doing it for you and how you want to do it and that's the only thing that matters and that's the only thing that's important but cash it took a long time to Get over that challenge that hurdle especially like growing up. I was really Kind of silenced a lot and I think that kind of goes back to like, you know wanting to do other things besides swimming but being told
I was kind of just, you know, shut up and keep going was kind of the motto. And I like to look back and think like, yeah, like, no, it was good. It was happy. And like, I to my therapist and she was like, was it? You know, don't, was it? And so another part of the challenge was just kind of finding my own voice too and being able to kind of just say, say no and start saying yes to myself.
Shay (28:23)
huh.
I wonder still if that is something about where we grew up and also our generation because I had very similar situations with growing up and my mom likes to go, well then you had such a bad childhood and it's like no that's not what I'm saying. I'm not saying I had a bad childhood. I loved my childhood. It's just there were certain things that aren't great.
Sarah Coffey (29:05)
needed protection from and I needed support for. I needed support from you. Yeah, I needed support from you. Like I know you tried your best. Unfortunately, I just needed some more and it's not, you know, in the...
Shay (29:08)
I needed support, needed something else. Something different.
I wish they would, I just wish that they would acknowledge that we're saying, we know that you did the best that you could and we're not, I'm not mad, it's just like, I'm just describing how it was for me and I wish you would just acknowledge and be like, I'm sorry, I didn't handle that as well as I should have or as, you know. And then I'd be like, great, done. And they're just like, I will not.
Sarah Coffey (29:42)
all you have to, they don't, I think, don't realize that all they have to do is take accountability and say, wow, I didn't even realize that was going on. Especially you and I share some traumatic events that have happened to us. And I also kind of pulls me back to like our hometown because I'm like very specifically thinking of the street that I grew up on where a lot of this happened. And it was very much really close to your house as well. And you know, we lived in this
Shay (29:48)
Yeah.
Mm -hmm.
Mm.
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (30:11)
bubble they said you know if you were in our town you know you were safe but no we weren't like just so many other things like it's like another part of it too I think that generation is sweeping under the rug on the rug pretty bow on it and that is my parents go to
Shay (30:26)
Mm -hmm. Just keep going. Yeah. Yeah.
Sarah Coffey (30:31)
They're just not visiting because, you know, they have something going on. It's like, no, they're not visiting because you didn't like your drugs.
Shay (30:38)
They don't want to. Yeah. Yeah. See, like, I just wish we would call it as it is and just move on.
Sarah Coffey (30:47)
acknowledge it, grow from it. Like that's all I'm asking.
Shay (30:50)
Yeah, I don't understand why they are so hesitant to just... It's like it's a battle. They just want to argue about it. And it's like I'm not looking for an argument. I'm just looking to chat and let you know my point of view and maybe we could go forward and do things better. No.
Sarah Coffey (31:10)
Yeah, acknowledge it
I don't tie this pretty bow on it, I think is like the main thing I've really been taking away. Looking back at some of the things I grew up with, it's like, well, no, that didn't really happen that way. Like, and I wish, and it's okay that it wasn't okay. For you to like kind of brush them off to the side, like it almost feels like you're dismissing it. And that makes it worse because then it goes right back to her childhood. quiet. Your voice doesn't matter. Keep it to yourself. Let's keep moving. Keep going through the motions.
Shay (31:25)
Mm -hmm.
Mm -hmm. I wonder, I mean, it has to be their generation, I feel, because that's how they were raised. it sucks that they also had, you know, had to go through these things, but why wouldn't you want to be like, I want to make my world different for my child, or at least if I made the mistakes, why can't we openly talk about them? It's just, I don't know.
Sarah Coffey (32:03)
Yeah, or even so here's a good example. My mom very much instilled with me to be independent and have a voice when it came to like a relationship with men. And that was tested sometimes, like she really had to kind of instill this because her relationship was not a, I would say like equalness if that makes, I'm trying to, anyway.
Shay (32:30)
Yeah, it's hard, right?
Sarah Coffey (32:33)
And so she tried to really instill that into me, which is great. And I love that about her, but it's like, she didn't take that advice for herself. And it's like, it hurts me because I see her still dealing with those, you know, those patterns and those same fights that happen over and over again. But it's like, if she, you know, kind of stepped up and found her own voice, you know, maybe that wouldn't happen. And then as an adult woman, it hurts me now to see that happening to her when she essentially taught me this, you
Shay (32:40)
Right?
Mm -hmm.
Yeah, it's really heartbreaking because I have kind of some similar things with my mom and I'm just like, take your own advice, lady. What are you doing? What are you doing?
Sarah Coffey (33:04)
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. And that's the thing. It's like they'll sit there and talk about it's almost you know, it's kind of reminds me of you know, and you have those people in. So this is a back to the normal workday. You have some news you have people in meetings and they talk to talk like I there's nothing coming out. There's no action items. And they're talking and it sounds great. And I they kind of reminds me of our moms. It's kind of like,
then you'll do this and then that and then everything will just be peachy cane and then we'll go and whitey is like you know ice cream and it will be fine and it's like yeah okay that all sounded good but then like no action items came from it and like no no change you know
Shay (33:51)
Yeah!
Yeah, yeah, I knew that now. It's, it's, my God, it's such a struggle. But I think that it's nice because we, me and you especially have grown into these different people that have learned from that and are trying actively to change it and or just acknowledge it, which is already a bigger step, I think.
Sarah Coffey (34:22)
Mm -hmm.
Shay (34:24)
and I'm super proud of us and we both go to therapy. So that's, I'm proud of that. Like anyone that goes to therapy, think, I think that's just like, that should be mandatory.
Sarah Coffey (34:35)
No, seriously everyone and even like if you so normally people go like on a scale of one to ten They go to therapy when their life is at an eight or above You know five like you because then you can get to it before it gets to that escalated scale those tools that you need and yeah, thank you so much for saying that I'm so proud of us too because We that is the biggest change between us and our parents is
Shay (34:45)
Yeah.
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (35:02)
Even though these things have happened to us and we know things have happened to them as well. You know, my mom always makes this excuse, well, his dad, you know, my grandpa wasn't a very good, wasn't this or wasn't that. And it's like, okay, I hear you, but that's an excuse. And you recognize that so that it's your responsibility to change that. And, you know, straight out of the words from my therapist, like, it's not my responsibility. It's not my mom's responsibility. It's his responsibility.
Shay (35:14)
It's like, well then change it. Yeah.
Mm -hmm.
Yep.
Sarah Coffey (35:31)
to go off that nature. I have one other point, but yeah, I am so proud of, I saw this video. It was a generational trauma and basically it showed four glasses of water. Did you see this? The first one is like your grandma and it's super dark water. And then it gets poured into the mother, your mother's and you know, it remains dark because
Shay (35:45)
I saw it. Yeah, I'm sure we get the same thing in the algorithm.
Sarah Coffey (35:58)
Unfortunately, mom didn't do anything to make those changes or to, you know, accept that, acknowledge it, move on, grow. So then the water goes into your cup and now you're, you know, you feel all of this. But what do you do? You decide to water yourself and you decide to go to therapy and you decide to cleanse your soul and cleanse those toxic patterns that are holding you back so that when you
give it to, I could almost cry about this, like when you give it to your daughter now, it's clean water and she has these tools to succeed in life and just be, you know, a version of herself that she really loves.
Shay (36:32)
Mm -hmm. I think that's what it's supposed to be. I mean, I don't want children, but even passing it on to my fur baby, I'm like, will... Other people, that is a... That is certainly a big thing, I would say, because before I started doing all this work on myself and just mentally and everything like that, I think, I mean, I know I wasn't as good of a friend, a person.
Sarah Coffey (36:40)
Yeah, or anything to other people.
Shay (36:59)
I was just all over the place in so many different aspects and I didn't even really like how I was. But I've made the changes, kind of like the situation. And I kind of like myself now and I enjoy people and I enjoy getting to know people and I enjoy harboring a healthier environment and being honest and all these things that weren't a
of me earlier because I just didn't know.
Sarah Coffey (37:30)
They were, but you had these other shadows and traumas and toxic, like above you trying to sway you because of past experience, you you this way or that way, or just from what you've known and seen. I love you, yeah, I think you're awesome and I'm for doing all of that, seriously. I have, now that you mentioned, I have seen some change in a sense of
Shay (37:43)
Mm -hmm. And you really look up to those...
Sarah Coffey (37:55)
You know, our friendship has kind of deepened and blossomed just for us being able to talk through certain things that we've never been able to talk through before, especially the beginning of our relationship, you know, 12, 15, whatever, many years ago.
Shay (38:04)
Mm -hmm, and I like
Yeah. And, you know, like it's one of those things where I wasn't even memorizing like friends' birthdays, but now I know yours, you know, like July 24th. you know, in your middle names, Elizabeth. Like I couldn't, I couldn't even hold on to those types of facts back then because I just, my mind was just all over the place and I wasn't, I just wasn't processing things healthfully.
or working through the things. I'm just like, I was sweeping it under the rug and just like, let's go, let's go, let's go.
Sarah Coffey (38:46)
This is what you were taught to do. I mean, it makes sense. Like I totally get it. I was have definitely been in that same situation as you and just feeling kind of riddled with anxiety, panic attacks, like what and like not understanding why it's understanding why I get a panic attack because my place is not spotless and people are coming over like who who even cares? They're coming over to see me and they're not come over to see my house like
Shay (39:14)
Exactly.
Sarah Coffey (39:15)
Why did that bring on a panic attack you know, and that's what really led me into like therapy and stuff. But you're so right. It's so hard when you have this and this and this doubt and whatever it is, you really can't you can't keep track of yourself, let alone anyone else, because you just have that
Shay (39:31)
Mm And I'm trying to upkeep this, like, upkeep this, like, facade of, I'm so cool and I do... Yes.
Sarah Coffey (39:38)
Yeah, I'm not failing right now. I'm doing this and I'm doing that.
Shay (39:43)
Yes, and I still do that, obviously. I'm like, I'm so successful. And I am in so many ways. exactly, I think I am successful in so many ways. And things that I enjoy, it might not be success to other people, but it's my success that I'm proud of. So I'm gonna share it. But
Sarah Coffey (39:49)
You are.
Yes
Heck yeah. You just landed a couple recent jobs. So hell yeah girl! Totally though, I think though, yeah, we, when you grow up without those tools, and actually something I wanted to say that was kind of strange for me is I didn't realize swimming was a therapy tool that I was given, that I didn't realize was
Shay (40:10)
Thank you. Let me blow my nose real quick in celebration.
Sarah Coffey (40:32)
as much of a stressor that it was to be successful in swimming, it was also my pacifier. I mean, it was something that, you know, if my grades, if I had failed the test, which I often did in my degree of engineering, I knew I could get in the pool and I could just swim it out. And so I think, so that was one thing I kind of realized like, this is a tool working out, does make me feel better. But I think,
Shay (40:36)
Yeah.
Yeah.
Mm -hmm.
Sarah Coffey (41:00)
It's so true and like the thought of everyone should have therapy, because that is something that truly healed me. And I feel made me the best person I am today is just by kind of working through all those things we both experienced growing up and still can experience from some people nearby today.
Shay (41:20)
Yeah, yeah, love that we've done that. Yeah, and I'm so glad you've stuck with me as well because sometimes you lose friends here and there and it's just what happens. But I think also I just, I didn't have the capacity to be a good friend yet. I don't know, I don't wanna make excuses, but I just, you know.
Sarah Coffey (41:23)
but I'm so grateful we have each other.
Well, and it was hard to I mean, we were so far away, you know, we were like long distance friends for for quite a while until really up until recently. So it was great that we were able to still kind of maintain that. I think it was maybe good for us because we both were kind of in places where we knew we couldn't really give our all. And so maybe that was kind of a blessing for us to have that, you know, just like, I'm thinking about you, but you know, you're on the other side of the world right now.
Shay (42:07)
Mm -hmm.
Yeah. And I don't know if all this childhood stuff is the reason why I'm kind of, I'm not, I don't mean in a rude way, but I'm a selfish person. I really like to do things for me and I want to be successful for me and I want to do things for me and I'm always just like...
Sarah Coffey (42:33)
I don't think that's selfish. think you're taking care of yourself. I think that's very normal. And I think the fact that you're trying to, you know, just continue to grow and be the best version of you is a very normal thing. whether that means, you know, saying no to someone or no to this or whatever, I don't think that is. I think that's you, you know, meeting your needs and saying yes to
Shay (42:53)
Yeah, I think just for so long, just was like, meeting my own needs and fight or flight and we are going and if anyone's here, you can join me, but like I am going. And it's finally now just obviously started to kind of calm down and we've, you know, it's like, it's that 30 mark, I think really changes it. Like you hit 30 and it's like, you get your adult body, you get your adult thoughts, you learn.
Sarah Coffey (43:04)
you
And it's something about like, I was actually really scared to turn 30. I actually cried on my 29th birthday, like thinking about my 30th birthday. But then 30 happens and you're like, oh, no big deal. Like, oh, no big deal. Like I'll be 32 in a couple of weeks. And I'm like, cool. I love multiples of eight. Like, let's go.
Shay (43:30)
Girl!
yeah.
You're such a nerd. I love multiples on 8
Sarah Coffey (43:48)
But it's like, I was gonna say, don't know, but I was gonna say like also maybe part of like, have you heard about like, you're going back to astrology, like your satin return. So it's like part of this, like you're you're returning to your to Saturn. And it's a planet of like clarity and like, making boss ass moves and just kind of finding yourself and accepting
Shay (43:59)
Mm -mm.
Sarah Coffey (44:15)
I hope I have that right.
Shay (44:17)
What planet is a Leo in? Like, what's your planet? You're the sun. Of fucking course you are. Of course you are, freaking Leo.
Sarah Coffey (44:20)
You're the sun. You're literally the sun. Is Scorpio's at net Pluto? Pluto.
Shay (44:30)
I'm a Pluto, yeah. Which I freaking love. I think that's very cool. It's very sassy. I love it.
Sarah Coffey (44:39)
I just love the Scorpio in you. You literally are magic. When we get together, you guys listening, magical stuff happens. We'll be in the street and just like, we're like, what the?
Shay (44:49)
You guys.
I mean, maybe, yeah, ask your husband. He's probably like, God, they're annoying as hell. When they get together, it is not magic. It's loud. Yeah, it's magic for us. Like, what are you talking about, Tyler? Recently, we just watched Sex and the City, which is like our next binge watch, and I'm super excited to keep going. But I'm slowing down because I'm afraid of finishing it.
Sarah Coffey (45:02)
Yeah.
Magic for us.
Yes, we'll talk about that next.
Shay (45:25)
I don't want it to go away so I've slowed down a bit but we'll catch
Sarah Coffey (45:28)
Yeah. It's so crazy to think that that was shot in the early 2000s as well. And in some cases, they're like so ahead of their time and some of the things they say and then other times I'm just like, what are you wearing? And what did you just say? And like, their version of diversity is like, I think you said this was like, you know, literally, it's still for girls, white girls, but just with different hair colors.
Shay (45:35)
Early. Yeah.
Yeah.
I was like, yeah, I was like, wow, lots of diversity in this show. You know, it's not something you think about until later on. And I was like, there's just a lot of white people in this show. You know, I was like, I don't think there was a single black person in like five seasons. I was like, come on.
Sarah Coffey (45:57)
diverse.
They know it was really annoying. I gave people which I loved so at least like in that going but yeah, definitely needed some more You know what? I mean like Miranda. She's a lawyer, you know, she's got that going and like doing that thing and you know, they all have their own quirks and whatnot, but Overall
Shay (46:18)
Yes.
They were all rich white ladies. Yeah, but it was very of its time, which I enjoy. very much into the nostalgia things right now, I think. Do you care if I ask you some rapid fire questions? All right, you can go
Sarah Coffey (46:39)
Yeah, it's cool. And it's next year too.
Shay (46:54)
You can go into as much detail as you'd like or not at all and I don't care. Whatever you want. Question numero uno. What is something people get wrong about you?
Sarah Coffey (47:06)
Hmm. I think people don't realize how, like, especially when they first meet me, not that I'm like trying to put on like a professional facade or anything like that, but I can get really silly and really weird really quick. And like to the point where my mind is like 10 steps ahead into this joke, and I'm laughing and people are like, why is she laughing?
Shay (47:31)
That's so true.
Sarah Coffey (47:32)
I just get really like silly and weird really quick sometimes and people are like who is she?
Shay (47:38)
That is so true about you, not to take your questions, but that's so funny because I'll be looking over at you and you're just already like 10 miles ahead and you're like, I'm laughing about something. And I'm like, what?
Sarah Coffey (47:42)
Okay.
turn to you and I'll be like, because of the jam, right?
Shay (47:55)
Like girl, you didn't tell me. You just live in your own little head and I love it. What is your guilty pleasure TV show?
Sarah Coffey (48:04)
totally our reality shows that we watch together. I want to say Jersey Shore, but I will give something current. I just totally benched the mole, the recent mole. It's good though. episode comes out tomorrow. there's season two on Netflix. they revamped it from the early two thousands. The Baldwin's were on it. and even inspired me to go on Netflix and send them a one minute.
Shay (48:14)
was it good?
Okay.
I was gonna say, I've only seen the early 2001. That's funny.
Sarah Coffey (48:33)
little casting video of like why I want to be in the mall.
Shay (48:37)
my god, fun! That's awesome! And like, what is the whole purpose of it? You have to find them all, yeah?
Sarah Coffey (48:45)
Yeah, so basically it's like starts with, don't know, 12 people. One person's the mole. Everyone's putting money into the pot. The mole is the person trying to take money out. Yeah.
Shay (48:55)
Love it. And you'd be good at that. You'd be good at that. I don't know if I got it in me. I wouldn't be a good mole. No, I think I would be like the classic, like, she's totally the mole. And I'd be like, yeah.
Sarah Coffey (49:03)
think you would be good.
You'd like feeding them information. I was watching Claim to Fame premiered last night, the new season of that, and I think you'd be really good on that. It's kind of a mole -like show as well. Basically, it starts off with a group of people. Everyone's related to someone famous. And it's a secret. You have to figure out who they're related to, what's their claim to fame. Yeah, so you, okay, actually, I already know I'm going to be on
Shay (49:12)
Yeah.
What's that?
Sarah Coffey (49:37)
because you'll be my claim to fame.
Shay (49:39)
Obviously, yes, yes. What channel is that on?
Sarah Coffey (49:42)
ABC.
Shay (49:43)
okay. Never even heard of it. Sounds funny though. Cable. Yeah. Yeah. And I definitely thought you were gonna say for your guilty pleasure show would be Price is Right. You're a Price is Right hoe.
Sarah Coffey (49:45)
We just have the you know, like the cable antenna you just plug in. We just do that. You can watch on.
That is on every morning in the background at least.
Shay (50:04)
Yeah, yeah, I'm getting a snap every day of Drew, Carey Come on down! tag, I'm gonna tag Drew, Carrie in this, let him know that.
Sarah Coffey (50:09)
Come on now!
He just dressed up as this wrestler. He was looking pretty good actually. deaf.
Shay (50:20)
I think he's a national treasure. Deaf. What was your favorite childhood movie?
Sarah Coffey (50:27)
I'm gonna go Disney on this and say Cinderella. loved it, loved the idea of you're trapped in this life, you get whisked away by Prince Charming and get to live in riches for the rest of your life. As everyone else, have those sisters, you know, like I just, that was the movie I remember watching, Repeat, dressed up for us, Halloween, had the last numbers.
Shay (50:31)
Billy! Aww.
Wow, that is very you.
That's Vario.
I love that. I didn't expect that. What was your last Google search?
Sarah Coffey (50:57)
This is kind of weird. So for work, I had to Google something because one of my top customers sent me, he asked for more granular data. And I was like, granular. So immediately I thought about like, sugar. I does he really mean by that? And basically, it's like data that's been broken down.
Shay (50:58)
Yeah
That's what I thought, granulated sugar?
Sarah Coffey (51:24)
in most detail while still being usable. like really combing through it, fine combing through it. just
Shay (51:31)
I'm so like granulated sugar, but... Data.
Sarah Coffey (51:33)
Yeah, so I'm like, fine, sugar. I'm like, that kind of makes sense. I'm like, OK. And that's when I got a Google search.
Shay (51:37)
Okay, we learning something. We're learning stuff. What's your go -to karaoke song?
Sarah Coffey (51:45)
If it is not Skater Boy by Avril Lavigne, if I'm feeling sassy, especially like when I was kind of lost, you know, early year 20s, like in that time frame we had talked about, my go -to was I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. just, that was my stick it to the man song. You couldn't get at me because I'm going to survive.
Shay (52:01)
Hmm. yeah.
my god, so classic for you, I think. That sounds about right.
Sarah Coffey (52:15)
What is your go -to carry -on? Can I ask you?
Shay (52:18)
I usually, yeah. I usually, it depends. Right now we're trying to change it. I go karaoke about once every five years, but I'm, I'm prepped for it. usually it's, it's anything by Miley Cyrus or, or rehab by, Amy Winehouse. Trying to make me go to rehab. Yeah, very low. So that works for me. But now I'm trying too sweet by,
Sarah Coffey (52:27)
That was like a snipe.
Very nice.
Shay (52:48)
Hoser, the one that's like, take my whiskey, coffee black in my bed at three, you're too sweet. I love it, I love it. So I'm learning a new one, no big deal. We need to go karaoke. I'm surprised we've never karaokeed.
Sarah Coffey (52:54)
Yeah!
Let's
Let me go back into a musical. You are such a good singer.
let's do in a couple of weeks. There's a place around the corner. Yeah. But girl, you are such a good singer. I want you to write your own like musical.
Shay (53:14)
yeah, I'll be up there soon. So, cool.
Aww, I will. Do you have any regrets? Regrets.
Sarah Coffey (53:24)
Yeah.
Regrets, regrets, regrets. You know, that's the classic, you you want to say no, you learned everything. man, but yeah, you know, you're where I'm at and I wouldn't be without any of the experience I had. I truly wouldn't be. So, I'm trying to think of something funny to say.
Shay (53:35)
Mm -hmm.
No, I'm very similar. Like, I have some regrets. Yeah, but I'm not
Sarah Coffey (53:57)
I do, but I'm not gonna say it, you know, like, come on. yeah, wish I could date that one guy, okay?
Shay (54:04)
Right, exactly, like I would go back and change a few things, but I wouldn't, you know, it's all been a part of the process, so it's fine, but yeah, there are a few things. Yeah, yeah, like I'm happy, it's fine, but like maybe I'll change one thing. Maybe I've started stocks when I was five.
Sarah Coffey (54:14)
where we are of course yes
Yeah, that they would.
Yeah, or started saving for a house. One of those. College, house. I just needed to save my money. I know I didn't know that. I didn't have any money, I needed to save.
Shay (54:27)
Literally, my mom was, I was like, we were having, we were.
Yeah, I know. I was literally having the argument with my mom, like, And she was like, well, you should have been doing this. And I go, when? When I was 10? And she goes, yeah. Like, she clearly, like, it really hit her then that I was 10, like, when I should have started saving for a house. And she was like, oh, yeah, I guess. But she just wouldn't ref she refused to admit I was right. But like, yeah, like, what were we supposed to do?
Sarah Coffey (55:00)
Thanks.
Yeah, seriously, like I was actually just talking with my friend Luke about this yesterday and we both were kind of like, we feel like we make a good salary. Where is the money? Where is it? I'm not going to these. I will take I will say I have taken a trip once every like once a year for like the past couple years. Like that is like once but just one.
Shay (55:03)
open up a savings?
Where is it?
Mm -hmm. Well, you also need to live.
Sarah Coffey (55:30)
Like yeah, it's like we're not going out to eat every night. We're not, you know, we're doing...
Shay (55:34)
see and I'm used to living in Europe where everyone's on holiday almost every other week because they are given the time off work they're given proper pay they're given you know so it's like Americans feel bad for that too they
Sarah Coffey (55:47)
doesn't cost an arm and a leg over there. Like I noticed like, we could go out and it wouldn't break the bank, you know, it wouldn't be like euros or $100 like anytime you got here, especially in Chicago, $100. I mean, you could you could skip, you know, maybe you share an entree, you don't get any you don't get any drinks. But it's at least you know, 4050 bucks and like after
Shay (55:52)
You can go to Paris.
Mm -hmm.
It's 100, yeah.
It's also the tipping culture here.
Mm -hmm. It's the tipping culture as well. Yeah!
Sarah Coffey (56:15)
And they'll even add like those surcharges, know, like surcharge 3%. This something something hidden fee 3%. I was getting Oh, I ordered Jimmy John's the other day. I was like, I'm getting two sandwiches. Well, actually, I thought I was only getting two. Why is it $50? I actually had done a reorder from like when you were here to sandwiches on top of the two. Like I was like, Okay, but still.
Shay (56:20)
Yeah. Yeah.
so it was mine?
Sarah Coffey (56:42)
for two sandwiches and a bag of chips plus delivery, was $35 like in
Shay (56:48)
Yeah, and I, oh God, it's just horrible. I mean, there's a reason why I'm struggling to move because I'm like, I'm making, I'm actually making way more than I ever did in London, monthly, and I'm nowhere near being able to live on my own here. Isn't that crazy? Like in London, I was making like 1600 tops a month and
Sarah Coffey (56:50)
want!
Shay (57:16)
Had my flat, could buy groceries. It was doing things, traveling. I was fine. Like, yeah, I was a little low on money, but it was fine. I could make it. Here, I make way over that and it don't matter. It's wild. Anyway.
Sarah Coffey (57:18)
Yeah, you're doing things, you're going to were, yeah, went to Ireland.
Rent, I mean like more than that. it's... Yeah, it did. Don't worry, student loans next.
Shay (57:37)
That rapid question got us heated.
Don't even get me started on the loans! My god, my 100k of student loans. I don't even know what to do about that. I can't even get into that.
Sarah Coffey (57:47)
more gold.
I've already paid like $50 ,000 off on it and I still have like a hundred left like I'm like what the
Shay (58:05)
It's the interest thing in... makes me want to cry. We'll have to do another episode on that. But do you have a favorite hobby?
Sarah Coffey (58:14)
Definitely just like hanging with my girl, you, like chilling, watching Jersey Shore, I love that. But I will say my most recent hobby that I've taken up is sewing. I did sew this shirt, thank you. I've just been really enjoying that as something to, it keeps your mind going, you know, and it actually can help with just, you know, stress relief and it's just kind of fun, you know, it's like a little kind of do get.
Shay (58:24)
yeah, and did you sell that shirt? Yes. Yes.
Sarah Coffey (58:43)
to do your own little fashion.
Shay (58:45)
Mm -hmm and it like it's so useful because the amount of times I rip my pants or You know, I'm
Sarah Coffey (58:53)
We were going to our classes this weekend and Tyler pulled a couple shirts and he was like, do you think you can fix this? I like, I can now, I can!

When WAP came out, that just changed my identity. And I was like, I will listen to whatever you have to say, Miss Stallion.
Sarah Coffey (59:50)
